Roof Repair in Lincoln, ND and the Work Around It

Lincoln homeowners usually call us for one of four things. Each one ties back to how this young city has grown and the weather it shares with the rest of Burleigh County.

  • Roof repair: roof repair in Lincoln, ND often means fixing lifted shingles, worn pipe boots or tired flashing on a roof that is reaching middle age.
  • Residential roofing: when a whole roof is due, a new shingle system with proper ventilation suits the homes built here over the last few decades.
  • Hail damage repair: after a summer storm, we inspect, photograph the damage and work with your adjuster through the claim.
  • Gutters: gutters in Lincoln, ND carry snowmelt and storm water away from foundations and driveways, and a sagging run is worth replacing before it pulls loose.
About Lincoln

From Fort Lincoln Estates to a City of Its Own

Lincoln began as Fort Lincoln Estates in 1972, and residents voted to incorporate it as a city in 1977. It sits right beside Bismarck in Burleigh County and is part of the Bismarck and Mandan metro area. In just a few decades it has become one of the larger cities in North Dakota.

The growth has been steady. The census counted 656 residents in 1980 and 4,257 in 2020, an increase of more than three quarters over 2010 alone. That pace means many roofs in town were installed in the same stretch of years, so neighbors often find their roofs aging together.

Newer neighborhoods bring their own needs. Where homes went up around the same time, roof shapes and gutter layouts tend to be similar, which makes it easier to spot when one house on the street has storm damage the others do not.

Why a Roofing Company for Lincoln, ND Watches the Wind

Storms crossing central North Dakota do not stop at the city line. In June 2016, the National Weather Service tracked thunderstorm winds of 75 to 100 mph moving out of Oliver County and across Burleigh County, where Lincoln sits. Wind like that can lift shingles, bend gutters and tear at siding in a matter of minutes.

As a roofing company for Lincoln, ND and the rest of the county, we check a roof edge to edge after a big wind event, not just where the damage is easy to see. A loose shingle tab caught early is a short repair, while one left alone through winter can let snowmelt into the attic. Our service areas page shows the other towns we cover.

Choosing a Roofer in Lincoln, ND for a Newer Home

A newer house still deserves a careful roofer. Even a fairly young roof can wear early when attic ventilation falls short or a few shingles were never fastened well. Small problems like these are easy to fix once someone spots them.

As a roofer in Lincoln, ND, we start every job with a full look at the roof, the attic where we can reach it and the gutters. You get photos and a plain explanation of what we found, followed by a written estimate for a repair or a replacement. If a repair will do the job, we say so.

When a full roof is the right call, we help you choose shingles and colors that suit the house and the street. We can line up gutter and siding work at the same time, so one crew keeps the details consistent from the ridge down to the downspouts.

Had Draxen construction out to take care of our roof in Bismarck, and they did an excellent job. The crew showed up ready to work, communicated throughout the project, and paid attention to the little details. Everything was done professionally, and they made sure the property was cleaned up before leaving. It's hard to find contractors who take pride in their work but Draxen definitely delivered. Highly recommend them for roofing in the Bismarck area!

Draxen crew came and did vinyl siding on my house. Everything came out just the way I thought it would. Everything was straight and they had cuts really precise. They even went around all the openings with caulk to seal up holes and edges around fixtures on the house. They held themselves in a professional manner while working on my house. When they found an issue with the house they brought it to my attention and we found a solution fairly quickly so they could keep working. They offer multiple solutions and didn’t make me feel strong armed while needing the services. Very good company in all and will be using them again for anything exterior. Very reasonably priced as well.

Lincoln Questions

Roofing Questions from Lincoln Residents

(701) 504-9808
Is Lincoln close enough for a quick estimate visit?

Yes. Lincoln sits right next to Bismarck, where our shop is on Morrison Avenue, so it is one of the easiest towns for us to reach. We can usually set an estimate at a time that works around your schedule. Call (701) 504-9808, Monday to Saturday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, to arrange a visit.

Who sets the permit rules for roofing work in Lincoln?

Lincoln is its own city, separate from Bismarck, so its permit rules can differ from those across the city line. Before a roof replacement or other large exterior project, we confirm what the city requires for your address and explain anything you need to do. Small repairs are often simpler, and we tell you which case applies before work begins.

My neighbor got a new roof after a storm. Should I have mine checked?

It is a good idea. Homes on the same street often face the same hail and wind, and damage is not always visible from the ground. We inspect the shingles, vents, flashing and gutters, take photos and tell you plainly whether there is damage worth a claim or a repair, or whether the roof came through fine.

Do you replace gutters on newer Lincoln homes?

Yes. Gutters on newer homes can still sag, leak at the seams or come loose after heavy snow and wind. We repair sections when that makes sense and replace full runs and downspouts when the system is undersized or worn out. Pairing gutter work with a roof project keeps the edge of the roof and the gutters working together.
