Roofing Steele ND Homes and Shops Can Count On

Steele sits out on the open prairie along Interstate 94, where storms cross a long stretch of flat ground before they arrive. Summer brings hail and hard wind, and winter brings snow that drifts against every wall. As a roofer for Steele, ND homes and businesses, we focus on the services those conditions demand most often.

  • Hail damage repair: bruised shingles, dented vents and cracked siding are documented in detail so your adjuster sees the full picture.
  • Metal roofing: steel panels shed snow and stand up to wind, which makes them a natural choice for shops and outbuildings.
  • Roof replacement: when a roof has seen too many storms, we tear it off, inspect the deck and install a complete new system.
  • Siding: new siding closes the gaps where wind-driven snow and rain get into a wall.
  • Commercial roofing: businesses in town get one point of contact and a schedule planned around their customers.
Local knowledge

Working as a Roofer in Steele, ND, the Kidder County Seat

Steele was platted in 1878 by Wilbur F. Steele and named for him, and it has had a post office since 1880. As the seat of Kidder County, it is home to the Kidder County Courthouse, built in 1883. Drivers on Interstate 94 know the town by exit 200 and by the world's largest sculpture of a sandhill crane, which stands beside the highway.

The town also holds a weather record that says a lot about this part of the state. On July 6, 1936, Steele reached 121 degrees Fahrenheit, the highest temperature ever recorded in North Dakota. Heat like that ages shingles, and the same summers bring the thunderstorms and hail that test a roof from above.

Steele is about 41 miles east of Bismarck, an easy drive on the interstate for our crew. Back toward the capital, we also serve Bismarck and nearby Lincoln.

Hail Damage Roof Steele ND Owners Should Not Ignore

Hail damage is easy to miss from the ground. A shingle that has lost its granules or cracked along its mat may look fine for months before it starts to leak. After a storm, a careful roofer in Steele, ND should walk the whole roof, check the vents and flashing, and look at the gutters and siding on every side of the house.

We photograph what we find and write it up plainly, then meet your insurance adjuster on site if you want us there. The claim decision always belongs to the insurance company, and good records help it match what the storm did. When the work is approved, we handle the repair or full replacement with the same crew that inspected it.

Wind usually travels with the hail. Gusts can crease shingles or pull them loose along the eaves and rakes, and that damage belongs in the same report. We note every kind of damage we find, so nothing from the storm is left out of the record.

Metal Roofing Steele ND Shops and Homes Can Choose

Metal deserves a close look from anyone in Kidder County who is tired of patching shingles after every storm season. Steel panels come in several profiles and many colors, from exposed fastener panels for a shop to standing seam for a house. Installed correctly, they shed snow quickly and hold their ground in strong wind. Professional installation determines how effectively the finished system performs.

Hail can still dent metal, so we talk through panel thickness and finish before you decide. A panel with cosmetic dents can keep water out for years, and we explain that difference so you know exactly what you are buying. On shops and machine sheds, we also look at ventilation, because condensation under a cold steel roof can drip onto equipment during winter.

Had Draxen construction out to take care of our roof in Bismarck, and they did an excellent job. The crew showed up ready to work, communicated throughout the project, and paid attention to the little details. Everything was done professionally, and they made sure the property was cleaned up before leaving. It's hard to find contractors who take pride in their work but Draxen definitely delivered. Highly recommend them for roofing in the Bismarck area!

Draxen crew came and did vinyl siding on my house. Everything came out just the way I thought it would. Everything was straight and they had cuts really precise. They even went around all the openings with caulk to seal up holes and edges around fixtures on the house. They held themselves in a professional manner while working on my house. When they found an issue with the house they brought it to my attention and we found a solution fairly quickly so they could keep working. They offer multiple solutions and didn’t make me feel strong armed while needing the services. Very good company in all and will be using them again for anything exterior. Very reasonably priced as well.

Steele questions

Questions From Steele Property Owners

(701) 504-9808
Is Steele too far from Bismarck for you to take the job?

No. Steele is about 41 miles east of Bismarck on Interstate 94, and it is one of the towns we serve from our shop at 1907 Morrison Ave. Our crew comes out for the estimate, the inspection and the full project. Call (701) 504-9808, Monday to Saturday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, to arrange a visit.

Is metal roofing a good fit for a shop or outbuilding near Steele?

Often it is. A steel roof on a shop or pole building needs little upkeep over the years and stands up well to the wind that crosses open country. We check the framing and purlins on older buildings first, then replace worn panels or install a complete new steel roof with matching trim.

How soon should I call after a hailstorm in Steele?

Call as soon as the storm has passed and it is safe to go outside. Early inspection catches damage before rain gets in, and many insurance policies set a time limit for reporting a claim. We look over the roof, siding and gutters, document what the hail did, and help you understand what to tell your insurer.
